Veil Workshop Tuesday August 4th 5:45 PM to 8:45 PM

Discover the beauty, flow, and expressive artistry of veil dance in this immersive 3-hour workshop. With short snack breaks woven throughout, you'll have plenty of time to learn, move, and connect without feeling rushed.

Together we'll explore foundational veil grips and handling techniques, graceful movement patterns, and the skills behind beautiful veil flourishes and transitions. We'll also learn versatile combinations that can be adapted for choreography, improvisation, or performance.

Whether you're just beginning your veil journey or looking to refine your technique, this workshop is designed to help you move with greater confidence, creativity, and ease. Come ready to play, explore, and let your veil become an extension of your dance.


 

Sword Workshop Tuesday August 11th 5:45 PM to 8:45 PM

Build confidence, strength, and grace as you explore the art of dancing with a sword in this immersive 3-hour workshop. With short breaks throughout the day, you'll have time to recharge while giving your body a chance to reset and absorb each new skill.

We'll begin with essential safety practices and confidence-building techniques before progressing into foundational sword patterns, movement drills, and flowing combinations. You'll also learn a fun mini choreography that brings these skills together in a practical and performance-ready way.

Throughout the workshop, special attention will be given to ergonomic movement and body mechanics, helping you reduce unnecessary hand, arm, and shoulder fatigue while developing greater control and efficiency. My hope is you will leave with greater confidence, a stronger connection to your body, and practical techniques that make dancing with a sword feel both powerful and effortless.


 

Cane Workshop Tuesday August 18th 5:45 PM to 8:45 PM

Celebrate the playful spirit and joyful energy of dancing with a cane in this engaging 3-hour workshop. With short breaks throughout the day, you'll have time to refresh, connect, and enjoy the learning process.

Together we'll explore the rich tradition of cane dancing, touching on its history and cultural roots while building a strong technical foundation. You'll learn practical techniques that help your movements feel more natural, fluid, and beautiful, making it easier to dance with confidence and ease.

Throughout the workshop, we'll bring these skills together as we learn a complete choreography designed to reinforce the techniques and inspire your own artistry. The goal is that you'll leave with a deeper appreciation for this vibrant dance tradition, a choreography you can truly enjoy, and the confidence to let your personality shine every time you pick up your cane.


Drum Solo Workshop August 25th 5:45 PM to 8: 45 PM

Few styles of belly dance are as exhilarating, or as rewarding as the drum solo. In this energetic 3-hour workshop, we'll break down the rhythms and musical elements that create a drum solo, giving you a simple "recipe" for understanding how different sounds naturally inspire different types of movement.

Rather than memorizing choreography alone, you'll learn how to listen to the music with greater confidence and choose movements that complement its energy and texture. We'll explore musical interpretation, movement choices, and dynamic combinations before bringing everything together in a fun choreography.

Throughout the choreography, you'll also have opportunities to substitute your own movements, helping you build confidence in improvisation while honoring your own unique dance style.

-My hope is that you'll leave hearing drum solos in a whole new waywith the confidence to trust your musical instincts, make creative choices, and truly enjoy the conversation between the music and your body.

What to Expect in Belly Dance Class

 

What to Expect

Joining a class to learn or refine your skills is an exciting journey. My goal is to create a welcoming space where you feel supported, encouraged, and inspired every step of the way. I'm here to guide you, answer questions, and help you build confidence while keeping the learning process fun. Along the way, you'll meet new friends, develop strength and coordination, and discover the joy of expressing yourself through dance.


What to Wear

Comfortable yoga pants or leggings and a fitted top are recommended so you can more easily see and understand the movements through your core. Fitted clothing also helps prevent fabric from getting tangled in your props as you learn new techniques.

Most classes are danced barefoot, but dance shoes, slippers, or foot undies are welcome if you prefer. PLEASE, NO HEELS

Hip scarves are available to borrow during class, and a variety are available for purchase if you'd like one of your own.


New to Dance?

No problem! Whether this is your very first class or you're continuing your dance journey, everyone is welcome. We begin by building a strong foundation through posture, breath, and fundamental belly dance movements before adding layers, combinations, and prop work.

Remember, every dancer starts in the same place, with curiosity and a willingness to learn. 

It takes time to embody new information and discover new ways of moving. Be patient with yourself, celebrate your progress, and trust the process. The goal isn't perfection; it's building confidence, finding what works best for your unique body, and enjoying the journey along the way. Questions are always welcome, and modifications are offered whenever possible so each student can learn in a way that feels safe, successful, and enjoyable.


What to Bring

Yoga mats are available to borrow for classes that use them, but you're always welcome to bring your own.

Bring a water bottle, a willingness to explore, and an open mind. Everything else will come with time, practice, and a little bit of play.
